Promote a Sister Sunday: FlowerFly

It's time again for a Carried Away Bags team member post...and being the beginning of Earth Week...I chose Flower Fly for her reusable snack bags.

These are such a great idea - I am always pushing my boys (yes, that includes hubby) to use the plastic storage boxes for lunches instead of the bags...this is even better.
She makes them in different sizes and has a bunch of different fabrics. And right now she has a buy 3 get 1 free offer going in her Etsy shop...so stop in now!

She also makes these cozy looking crocheted slippers and you can find iPod cozies too.

And I can't go without giving a shout out of congrats....she is due April 30th!

Promote A Sister Sunday: P and J Crafts

Welcome to another Carried Away Bag Team feature. Today I picked P and J Crafts. I often visit her blog, tweet with her and browse her Etsy shop to check out what new things she's come up with. She makes these really cool rag quilt bags. I love how something so raw can look so amazing and put together.

This bag is perfect for St Pattys Day...

And I have always love this color combo:

Promote a Sister Sunday: Naughty Monkeys

It's that time again...promoting other great artisans. This weeks CAB Team member was once a writer - as in "six books, hundreds of magazine articles, seven years as a free-lancer for People magazine (which I actually managed to survive without going through Brad Pitt's trash cans even one single time!) and way, way too much movie copy (Most memorable: "Nature has a dark side" from "Twister" actually won a major award!)." Yes, I took that directly from her profile...I couldn't have said it any better...heck, she's the writer.

Here's some more....
"I've put the word processing aside for a while and returned to my first love -- making stuff. About the stuff: a lot of it is hand-knitted or sewn (by me!). But since I was born with no ability whatsoever to follow directions, the end results are pretty much original designs. Then there are the "rescues." After years of rescuing dogs and cats, I've expanded into rescuing beautiful old clothes and accessories. The ones with semi-fatal flaws, like holes or stains, might become bags. Other pieces -- dresses, for example -- get a second life as blouses, vests or even lingerie. There's no end to the possibilities, which is what makes this so much fun!"

And now for my favorite part - showing off! Here are some of my faves, which will also give you an idea of the great range of items she has in her Etsy shop.

Promote a Sister Sunday: Mary Morra

It's is Sunday once more and time again for a Carried Away Bags Team member spotlight. Today is Mary Morra. Like me, she is lucky enough to be a stay at home mom. She had once worked as a Vice President of a bank! I can't imagine there was much room for creativity there.

She makes wonderful fun & funky bags, wallets, card holders, totes and more. She is open for custom orders, and if you like fun fabrics - she's got them! Just check out her flickr and see for yourself. Here are some of my faves:

Business/Gift Card Holder: Kashmir

SophieSling: 60s Lava

Christy Clutch with detachable keyfob: Rounded Corners

"I design and create my bags with function and beauty in mind. “Would I wear this everyday? Would my mom, sister, niece, and friend wear it??” This is the question that I start with and create from there.
Then the fun part – the fabric. I search for unique fabrics with interesting designs that are durable and will stand up to wear and tear."
- Mary Morra

You can find all her fabulous creations in her Etsy shop. She also has a blog, facebook and a flickr account where you can see her fabrics & more of her creations.

Promote a Sister Sunday: Atelier de Soyun

I noticed Soyun's avatar a while back - it was so interesting looking. At first I was not sure what it was...until I looked closer...it is a packaged creations. How cute. And so is what's inside. She makes these great hand-crafted gifts, bags, purses and pouches.

She grew up in Seoul and is there again after studying and working in New York. She is both a designer and an artist...both of which show in her work.

"All my creations are inspired from various memories
with my family and friends from all over the world.
Every piece is originally designed and carefully
handcrafted to ensure finest quality."

Here are just a few of my favorites from her Etsy shop:

Here are some places you can find her:

Promote a Sister Sunday: illoominations

My Carried away Bags Etsy team blogs on Sundays to promote a fellow member. Today I chose illoominations, the newest member. Her bags are all hand woven and quite original. This is a tidbit from her profile:

"By day I am a retail supervisor and by night I am an "il-loom-inator!" I started weaving in college and picked it up again many years later. I make handbags, scarves, wall hangings, cell phone cozies and more! I welcome special orders. I would love to weave you something to your specifications!"

Here are just a few of her creations that you can find in her Etsy shop:
