Well, it's time to start another series...this time with an friend - Ruthie from Roseworks Jewelry. We will be looking into all the different sites out there that Indie/Handmade artisans can sell their wares.
We are both on etsy right now and I have just started at Art Fire. I will be opening shop at a few more venues during January to get a first hand look at the whole experience. Wink Elf, Shop Handmade and 1000 Markets will be at the top of the list. There are many more, but I can't do them all. This is where you come in.
You can help us start out by answering a few questions about your experiences with different sell sites. Check out Rosework's blog for more. And you can also find her thread on etsy where you can respond also. Thanks everyone!
If you would be willing to answer some more in depth questions, please let me know in a comment here (don't forget to include a way to contact you).
Woohoo! I'm so excited about this!
ReplyDeleteTo add on to Ruthie's list of places online for selling.... Tory from The Spotted Box (on Artisan for Artisan Radio) talked today about hyenacart

I think you need to know a bit of html to list, but not sure.
Wow, what an amazing find and fabulous posting! I followed the links you included which led me to letsets.com - too cool. Thanks so much to both of you for working on this informative research project.
ReplyDeleteOutside of Etsy I'm listed on Smashing Darling, DaWanda, and Mint. If you'd like any feedback on these sites I'd be happy to help. I've never had a sale through Mint or DaWanda though.
I can only share my buyer experience. My favorite venue so far is Silkfair.com. I bought all my contest prizes from there and I find it really easy and appealing.
ReplyDeleteAs a + they have a blog and chat sections, so I can list what I'm looking for in my blog and all sellers see it and can answer my call. And the chat helps both my seller and me stay in contact for custom orders or anything else.

This is a great idea. I, too, just started on ArtFire right before the holidays. I plan on doing more now that the holiday craze is over.
ReplyDeleteI've had some mention Dawanda to me but being American, I'm not sure how I will do.
Good luck on all your new ventures and I'll check back on the progress.
